Are you a dreamer or a do’er? So many times we share our dreams, hopes and aspirations about who we are and what we would like to do in our lives, but are we actually putting our dreams into action?
There is a saying that goes like this, “don’t call it a dream, call it a plan.” And I couldn’t agree more. I will be honest, I have been a dreamer, saying this and that about what I want my life to look like and the things I aspire to, and when people held me accountable, I had nothing to show for it because I had no plan, and as a result, nothing came into fruition – embarrassing. SO, I have learnt a few things that we can all do regarding our “dreams”.
Number one, call it a plan. This dream of yours, whatever it is, must have an actionable plan that is achievable. When we write things down, there is something so concrete about it. It pulls your dreams out of your head (from your imagination) and into reality.
I believe it is always good to share our dreams with people who actually care. When we share with people that do not have our best interest at heart, it can get in the way of the positive intention we have for ourselves. There is also another great saying that I heard the other day, and it goes like this, “sometimes you block your own blessings by telling everyone your business.” This is so true.
Whatever dream you have, and what every you are aspiring to do, protect it, only share it with people that care, and most of all, make a plan. If we can dream it, we can do it!
